The Window of Roots — Dual-Sided Carved Golden-White Jadeite Pendant
Where nature meets architecture, and stillness meets life.
The Window of Roots captures a meeting of two worlds — the organic and the crafted. On one side, a golden-white jadeite tree spreads its branches in quiet motion; on the other, an ancient Chinese lattice window opens to light. Together, they form a meditation on connection — how life grows within form, and form breathes through life.
Each piece is handcarved from Burmese jadeite using a double-sided openwork technique. This method requires perfect alignment: the carver sculpts both surfaces separately, ensuring every branch on the front finds its echo within the geometric window behind. When held to the light, the pendant reveals shifting layers of gold and white, creating a quiet depth — like sunlight filtering through a courtyard tree.
The jade’s natural golden-to-ivory gradient mirrors the balance between warmth and serenity. Its translucence lets light breathe through, turning the pendant into a living sculpture that changes with every angle.
Designed to rest softly along the chest, this pendant complements neutral or earth-toned clothing — linen, silk, or simple cotton — allowing the story within to unfold quietly.
